| I have a friend whose wife left him for another man and married this other man 22 years ago. The other man died and the wife has not remarried. My friend has never remarried because he believes he is "still married in the sight of God" even though his wife committed adultery. I advised this man since he is "still married in the sight of God", he can have sexual relations with his "wife" because they are not divorced. And she cannot deny him, or he could not deny her. And they wouldn't have to get remarried because they weren't actually divorced. Is there anything wrong with this? Because if you want to tell people they still married even when they have a divorce decree, then they STILL have the rights of married people without having to get a marriage certificate. Therefore, my friend is still in "bondage" to his (ex) wife. Any comments? |
